Christian is "amped" for the new Sunset Overdrive gameplay trailer, but he and Julian gang up on Jeff and tell him Nintendo hasn't done anything right since SNES, especially in light of their $238 million loss this quarter, desperate new Pokemon games announcement, and late-to-the-party adoption of NFC figure product line. Tabletop Time has one of the most famous players of D&D on hand, so of course Scott describes exactly what makes playing D&D Next so great. Plus, the guys introduce Stories of Glories and Tales of Fails. In the Playlist, Scott is hooked on Hearthstone, Christian is swinging away on Mario Golf on his new 2DS, and Jeff is loving Mario Kart 8. The E3 Hype Train continues along apace, as the guys consider the possibility of "megaton" announcements.

He is buzzing about the Wizards of the Coast news, both their announcement of an official release date for D&D Next, and their copyright infringement lawsuit against Cryptozoic Entertainment. Jeff and Christian welcome cartoonist and Acquisitions Inc member, Scott Kurtz, of PvP Online and Table Titans fame, to the show this week.

Christian is interested in the PS4 being released in China, and Jeff is overwhelmed by the massive number of games released on Steam already in 2014. This week, he's talking about the contrast between hype and reality in games, specifically with Watch Dogs being released. Garnett is the host of Garnett on Games and the John + Garnett podcasts. Jeff and Christian welcome their buddy Garnett Lee back to DLC for the 4th time. During Tabletop Time, Jeff played the final version of the new Plaid Hat game, Dead of Winter, and everyone is buzzing for D&D 5th Edition. In the Playlist, Anthony loves Hohokum, Christian loves Swapper, and Jeff loves Diablo 3 for PS4. From the GenCon front, Jeff is excited for Star Wars Imperial Assault, and a whole mess of game announcements. Plus, a new game from Bioware, Obsidian gets the Pathfinder license, Sierra making Geometry Wars 3, Kojima and Del Toro combine for P.T. For the Sony press conference, the guys are excited about new games including Rime, The Tomorrow Children, and Wild, and SharePlay. Not to mention 3 bundles, the Halo Channel, and no Kinect. First up is the Microsoft press conference, and everybody has a complaint about how the Rise of the Tomb Raider exsclusivity was handled. Jeff and Christian welcome Anthony Carboni from We Have Concerns and Rev3Games to the show to talk all things Gamescom and Gencon.
